An 18th century ship’s wheel was broken, rotted, and completely disassembled when I found it over 30 years ago. I held onto it for 10 years before finally having the time to restore it to its former glory. Another decade passed before an opportunity presented itself, when I was commissioned to craft a glass-top dining table using this maritime relic. The table is solid oak, with 4 custom designed benches to surround it. The ¾” thick beveled glass is 6’ across.
