An old piano had lost its usefulness as an instrument, but it still held sentimental value to the family who treasured it. It was completely taken apart, and the parts were repurposed and rebuilt into this mahogany headboard. The front lid falls open on brass chain to reveal a storage cabinet inside. The original decal was saved, as was a part of the iron plate engraved with the name and serial number. The piece was stained and refinished in satin lacquer to match the mahogany bedroom furniture.
